Manifold Middlemarch Edition
In conjunction with our Zoom conference, we’ve also created a digital edition of Middlemarch on Manifold, a collaborative publishing platform, which we invite you to enjoy and annotate.
You can click the here to navigate to the Middlemarch Manifold edition to start reading. If you would like to annotate along with us, follow the instructions below.
To get started, join our “Middlemarch Conference Participants” reading group by clicking here. You will be prompted to either log in to your Manifold account or to create a new account.
Once you join our reading group, all annotations will be listed here.
To Annotate a Passage:
- Select the text you would like to annotate.
- Manifold will give you a pop-up menu from which you can select “Annotate.”
- After clicking “Annotate,” a window will pop up in which you can add your commentary.
- Once you’ve typed your comments into the text box, you can pick how you would like your comments displayed, either publicly or privately. If you want to share your ideas, make sure to select the “Middlemarch Conference Participants” from the Reading Group selection drop down menu below the text box.
- Finally, click “Save.”
To Edit or Delete an Annotation:
- Click on your annotation.
- Your annotation will open in a pop-up window. Below your name, you’ll see a “Reply” and a “Flag” option. Click “Flag.”
- You’ll be prompted with new options including “Edit” and “Delete.” If you wish to amend your annotation, click the “Edit” and make any adjustments you like. Then, click “Save.” If you wish to delete your annotation, click “Delete.” Then, click “Confirm.”
